The Irish Wolfhound Society of Ireland next walk

The Irish Wolfhound Society of Ireland next walk is: Saturday 30th November

A very rare opportunity to see one of the most exclusive racehorse training grounds in the world.

Aidan O’Brien & Ballydoyle have kindly opened their gates to the Irish Wolfhound Society of Ireland.
This is part one of a two part tour, we will be doing a tour of Coolmore Stud in May along with a historical tour of the 800 year old town of Fethard.
Our tour will begin at the security guarded front gates where many legends of racing past & present have passed through. We will see the statue of the legend Nijinsky. We will walk up the tree lined avenue next to the original gallops that Vincent O’Brien built. We will stop off & see the Giants Causeway yard. This yard was named after the great horse. This was home to such champions as Yeats, St. Nicholas Abbey & Duke of Marmalade. Onward to see the original yard built by Vincent O’Brien, were many champions past & present were trained.
In our tour we will see the pool & spas. Yes, they have special spas!
This is only the start of our tour. Your tour guide will be Jenny O’Meara she has worked for Aidan O’Brien for about the last 15 odd years give a few more than take. So a few stories to tell & any questions answered. Even if you have no interest in horse racing Ballydoyle is a not to be a missed opportunity. It is set on over 300 acres of some of the beautiful land in Tipperary. So don’t forget your cameras.

Our walk thru Ballydoyle will take about an hour & half to 2 hours. After our tour we will head to Fethard for lunch at McCarthy’s Hotel.

This will be a unique experience , lets remember to keep this beautiful venue as pristine as we find it , so please dont forget to bring plenty of plastic bags for ‘poop scooping’ and our own bits and pieces of rubbish …. See you there

Please contact

Jenny O’Meara at jlomeara@yahoo.ie or 0877611008 after 5pm. If you are interested in going.

If we could get rough numbers that would be great. And you never know who might pop up to see the hounds.
